Mets 6, Cardinals 0
Jeff McNeil hit a solo homer for New York. He added a second hit and run scored.
Tyrone Taylor drove in three runs on a hit for the Mets. Francisco Alvarez and Harrison Bader each had two hits and a run scored, with Bader also driving in a run. Pete Alonso had a hit, walk and run scored.
Sean Manaea earned the win on the hill to improve to 8-4 overall. He worked seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits, striking out 10 and walking none. His ERA is down to 3.30.
Andre Pallante took the loss and fell to 4-6. He allowed five runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out two over 4 2/3 innings.
No St. Louis batter reached base more than once.
Diamondbacks 7, Guardians 6 (10 inn.)
Joc Pederson hit a two-run homer for Arizona, while Ketel Marte and Gabriel Moreno added a solo blast each. Moreno had two total hits, while Marte walked once.
Jake McCarthy had a hit, a walk, was plunked by a pitch and scored two runs for the Diamondbacks. Josh Bell had two hits and a run scored. Eugenio Suarez drove in two runs on a hit and walk.
Zac Gallen started for Arizona and allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out four along the way.
Kevin Ginkel and A.J. Puk earned holds before Ryan Thompson was charged with a blown save. Thompson got the win too, with Justin Martinez earning the save.
Logan Allen started for Cleveland, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over five frames. He struck out two batters.
Cade Smith pitched next and was charged with a blown save. Hunter Gaddis and Tim Herrin picked up holds before Scott Barlow blew the save. Emmanuel Clase took the loss after allowing an unearned run in the 10th.
Jose Ramirez had three hits, a walk, an RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored for Cleveland. Andres Gimenez had three hits, two RBIs and a run scored.
Bo Naylor had two hits, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored for the Guardians. Steven Kwan also had two knocks.
Reds 10, Marlins 3
Elly De La Cruz hit two homers (a two-run shot and solo blast) for Cincinnati. Noelvi Marte added a two-run shot, while Ty France hit a solo homer. De La Cruz had four hits and three runs scored total, while France had three total knocks.
Jonathan India had two hits, a walk and two runs scored for the Reds. Jake Fraley had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored. TJ Friedl had a hit, walk and RBI.
Nick Martinez worked five scoreless innings to get the win for Cincinnati and improve to 6-5. He allowed four hits, while striking out five and walking none.
Roddery Munoz took the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks over 3 2/3 innings. He struck out two batters.
Jesus Sanchez hit a solo homer for Miami. Xavier Edwards, Jonah Bride and Otto Lopez all had two hits, with Edwards also stealing a base and scoring once and Bride also walking and driving in a run.
Giants 4, Nationals 1
Matt Chapman hit a three-run blast for San Francisco, while Tyler Fitzgerald added a solo bomb. Fitzgerald had two total hits.
Jerar Encarnacion had two hits for the Giants. Michael Conforto had a hit, walk and run scored.
Logan Webb improved to 9-8 after working the first 5 2/3 innings for San Francisco. He allowed a run on four hits and three walks, while striking out four. Webb’s ERA is now 3.42.
Ryan Walker, Taylor Rogers and Tyler Rogers earned holds before Camilo Doval picked up his 21st save. Doval struck out the side.
Patrick Corbin took the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.
Travis Blankenhorn had two hits for Washington. James Wood had a hit, walk and RBI, while Keibert Ruiz had a hit, walk and run scored. Luis Garcia Jr. had a hit, walk and stolen base.
Twins 3, Cubs 0
Manuel Margot hit a solo homer for Minnesota among his two knocks.
Matt Wallner had two hits and a run scored for the Twins. Trevor Larnach had two knocks and a stolen base.
David Festa got his second win after tossing five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and two walks, while striking out nine.
Caleb Thielbar, Jorge Alcala and Jhoan Duran earned holds before Griffin Jax picked up the save.
Kyle Hendricks took the loss after allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over six frames. He struck out five.
Ian Happ had a hit and a walk for the Cubs.
Rangers 4, Astros 3 (10 inn.)
Josh Smith hit a two-run blast for Texas, while Corey Seager added a solo bomb. Josh Jung had a hit and a walk.
Andrew Heaney started for Texas, allowing a run on a hit and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.
Kirby Yates eventually got the win despite allowing an unearned run in the 10th. He worked two innings.
Hunter Brown started for Houston. He allowed a run on three hits and two walks, while striking out four.
Ryan Pressly was later charged with a blown save. Caleb Ferguson also was tagged with a blown save, and also got the loss.
Alex Bregman hit a solo homer for Houston. Jose Altuve had a hit, walk and two runs scored, while Jeremy Pena had two RBIs on two hits. Yordan Alvarez and Yainer Diaz drew two walks each.
Red Sox 9, Royals 5
Romy Gonzalez hit a two-run homer for Boston. Masataka Yoshida had four hits and two runs scored.
Nick Sogard had two knocks and runs scored for the Red Sox. Rafael Devers had two hits, a walk and a run scored, while Connor Wong drove in two runs on two hits and scored once.
Boston’s Ceddanne Rafaela had two hits and a run scored, while David Hamilton had two knocks and an RBI. Jarren Duran drove in three runs on a hit and also stole a base. Wilyer Abreu had a hit and a walk.
James Paxton started for Boston and got the win after allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four and improved to 9-3 despite having a 4.42 ERA.
Brady Singer took the loss after allowing four runs on 10 hits and a walk over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out six along the way. Singer still has a 3.03 ERA.
Vinnie Pasquantino hit a solo homer for Kansas City.
Maikel Garcia had two hits and an RBI for the Royals. Michael Massey had two hits and runs scored.
Athletics 5, White Sox 1
Lawrence Butler hit a solo shot for Oakland. Max Schuemann drove in two runs on a hit.
Zack Gelof had two walks and runs scored and also stole a base for the Athletics. Brent Rooker and Shea Langeliers each walked twice. JJ Bleday had a hit, walk and run scored.
JP Sears allowed a run on three hits and a walk over seven innings and got the win for Oakland. He struck out five batters.
Austin Adams earned a hold before the Athletics scored and took away the save situation.
Ky Bush took the loss after allowing three runs on two hits and five walks over four innings. He struck out three.
No Chicago player reached base more than once.
Dodgers 5, Phillies 3
Teoscar Hernandez hit a two-run homer for Los Angeles, while Shohei Ohtani added a solo bomb. Ohtani had another hit and RBI, along with a stolen base.
Gavin Lux had a pair of hits for the Dodgers.
Tyler Glasnow improved to 9-6 after striking out nine over six innings. He allowed three runs on five hits and no walks.
Michael Kopech and Anthony Banda earned holds before Daniel Hudson got his eighth save.
Aaron Nola took the loss and fell to 11-5. He gave up four runs on eight hits over six innings, while striking out four and walking none.
Nick Castellanos and Austin Hays had two hits each for Philadelphia, with Castellanos also scoring once. Kyle Schwarber had a hit, walk and run scored.
