Juan Soto brings potent power to the Bronx following his return from the injured list

Since returning from a calf strain, Soto has provided instant power for a fourth-place Mets club currently riding a four-game win streak. Over his last 14 days, he has belted three home runs with seven RBIs, holding steady as New York's everyday starting left fielder despite batting just .214. His plate discipline remains sharp, and his recent three-run blast in Miami proves his leg is healthy.

While his .214 batting average over the past two weeks looks modest, it is merely a minor timing blip rather than a cause for concern. Soto is slashing .275 with 24 homers and a .399 on-base percentage across 95 games this year, closely tracking our projected .274 average and 30 home runs. With an elite walk rate and top-tier exit velocity, positive regression in batting average should arrive quickly.

Looking at the remainder of the week, the Mets head to the Bronx for a three-game series against the Yankees. Soto faces a challenging gauntlet against Carlos Rodon (3.09 ERA), Gerrit Cole (3.41 ERA), and Cam Schlittler (2.04 ERA).
