Giancarlo Stanton remains sidelined with calf injury as Yankees look to snap losing streak

Stanton has been on the shelf since late April with a right calf strain and has not appeared in a game in over two months. The second-place Yankees, currently 48-38, have felt his absence as they struggle through a seven-game losing streak. Per our data, he remains sidelined while rehabbing, leaving the designated hitter role to other options until he is cleared for a return.

Before the injury, Stanton showed flashes of his elite power with three home runs and six doubles in just 24 games. His .256 batting average was a notable improvement over recent seasons, though our models expected a regression toward a .234 mark over a full campaign. While his career stats highlight a player capable of 30-plus homers, his inability to stay on the field makes our season projection of 14 home runs difficult to reach.

New York hosts the Twins this weekend, facing Mike Paredes (4.26 ERA) and Joe Ryan (3.61 ERA).
