Ramos nears return from quad strain as Giants look for offensive spark

Heliot Ramos remains on the shelf with a right quad strain, though he has recently begun a hitting progression in Arizona to prepare for a late June return. The fourth-place Giants (33-47) have missed his presence in left field as they look to climb out of the bottom of the division standings. With Ramos still officially sidelined, the team has relied on Casey Schmitt and a rotation of depth options to cover the grass.

Before the injury, Ramos was providing steady production with a .261 average and four homers through 44 games, aligning well with his 20-homer baselines from the previous two seasons.
