Max Meyer remains sidelined with neck strain as fantasy managers await rehab updates
Meyer remains on the injured list with a neck strain that has kept him out since mid-July, logging no appearances over the past month. He received a cortisone injection in August, and while the third-place Marlins (71-69, riding a two-game win streak) remain hopeful for a late-season return, he has yet to rejoin the active rotation.
Prior to the shutdown, Meyer had assembled a breakout All-Star campaign, generating a 2.71 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and 121 strikeouts across 109.2 innings. While our baseline projections anticipated a more modest 4.50 ERA, his dominant swing-and-miss arsenal proved his high strikeout ceiling was genuine before durability issues interrupted his season.
Looking at the remaining weekly slate, Miami turns to starters like Sandy Alcantara, Janson Junk, and Ryan Gusto, leaving Meyer with zero projected innings against Kansas City and the Cubs. Fantasy managers must keep him parked on injured reserve until he begins a formal rehab assignment. Sit.
