Riley Greene remains a high-floor cornerstone as a three-time All-Star for Detroit

Greene enters the mid-July stretch as a force for the Tigers, slashing .313/.421/.625 over his last 14 days with seven RBIs and two home runs. He remains the locked-in everyday left fielder for a fourth-place Detroit squad that currently sits at 44-52 and is looking to build on a 7-3 run over their last ten games. His recent selection to his third All-Star game and milestone of reaching 1,000 total bases before age 26 underscores his role as the primary engine of this offense.

While his 13 home runs through 95 games are a step back from the elite 37-homer pace he set in 2025, Greene's underlying metrics show significant growth in maturity. He has already surpassed his 2025 walk total, leading to a career-high .383 on-base percentage that easily beats our preseason projections. Although some analysts have pointed toward an unsustainable BABIP, his improved plate discipline and elite exit velocity suggests that his current .288 batting average is a legitimate baseline rather than a fluke.

The Tigers have a light schedule to finish the week with just three games remaining, all on the road against the last-place Angels. While the limited volume of games caps his counting stat ceiling for the period, Greene is projected for a solid .273 average and an .874 OPS over the weekend. Facing a struggling Los Angeles pitching staff provides an excellent opportunity for Greene to jumpstart his power numbers. Start.
