Addison Barger remains sidelined through All-Star break with back fracture

Barger is currently shut down and on the injured list after suffering a stress reaction in his back in late June. This follows a difficult start to the 2026 campaign where he managed just one hit in 22 at-bats before the injury. The third-place Blue Jays, currently 44-49, are managing a significant injury list that has cleared his spot in the outfield for Nathan Lukes to take over primary duties.

While his 2025 breakout of 24 home runs and 84 RBI remains the benchmark for his potential, his current season has been a total wash due to health issues and a lack of rhythm. Our data has adjusted his season projection down to just nine home runs and a .240 average. Given the recurring nature of back and elbow issues this year, fantasy managers should expect significant rust and a likely power dip upon his eventual return.

Toronto is scheduled for a three-game series against the Padres this weekend, but Barger will not be available as he continues a rehab program in Florida. Even though the Blue Jays face high-ERA arms like Walker Buehler and JP Sears, Barger is not expected to rejoin the active roster until early August at the earliest. He remains a stash candidate only in the deepest of keeper formats. Sit.
