Addison Barger sidelined for the remainder of the season following elbow surgery

Barger has not seen game action in months after undergoing elbow repair surgery in late July, carrying an estimated six-month recovery window. He remains stationed on the 60-day injured list for a 64-68 Blue Jays team currently fourth in the AL East, leaving Nathan Lukes to handle everyday right field duties.

After a promising 2025 campaign that produced 24 home runs and 84 RBI, Barger's 2026 season was cut short after just nine games due to persistent back and elbow issues. Our projections expect zero rest-of-season output as he rehabs toward 2027, making this a completely lost fantasy year.

The Blue Jays host six games this week against Kansas City and Seattle, matching up against starters including Seth Lugo and Emerson Hancock. With Barger out through the remainder of the schedule, there is no reason to hold him in standard redraft leagues. Drop.
