Tage Thompson | Fantasy Outlook

Thompson brings elite shot volume into home matchup against Stars

Tage Thompson leads the Sabres onto home ice at KeyBank Center tonight for a matchup against the Dallas Stars. Buffalo enters at 2-1-0 as slight underdogs in what profiles as a higher-scoring environment against a 1-2-0 Dallas squad. Thompson has been thoroughly dominant through the first three games, compiling two goals, four points, and an eye-popping 17 shots on goal while logging nearly twenty minutes per game. Fresh off scoring the game-tying goal against Minnesota on Tuesday, he remains locked into top-line center duties alongside Josh Norris and heads Buffalo's top power-play unit. With his start rate rebounding to 98 percent, fantasy managers are fully confident.

Our daily projection targets Thompson for ~1 point and ~2–3 shots on goal with a good chance to score, generating roughly 4.6 fantasy points tonight. That high floor is reinforced by his role quarterbacking the first power-play unit with Rasmus Dahlin and Zach Benson. Looking at the wider weekly schedule, Buffalo has three total games scheduled this week, meaning Thompson has one matchup remaining after tonight on Saturday against Utah. Our models project him for about 10.9 fantasy points across the three-game slate, keeping him among the premier weekly center options. Lock him in with complete confidence. Today’s action: Strong Start.
