Konsta Helenius | Fantasy Outlook
Helenius handles third-line role as Sabres visit Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena
Konsta Helenius heads into Scotiabank Arena tonight as the Buffalo Sabres (3–4–1) pay a visit to the divisional rival Toronto Maple Leafs. The 20-year-old rookie continues to settle into a middle-six assignment on Buffalo’s third line alongside Ryan McLeod and Jiri Kulich, while also seeing secondary reps on the second power-play unit. Buffalo enters the matchup as slight road underdogs in a projected higher-scoring environment, likely testing Sergei Bobrovsky (unconfirmed) in net for Toronto. With no fresh news shifting his deployment over the past week, Helenius is searching for an offensive spark after generating one goal and seven shots through his first seven appearances.
Our projection for tonight pegs Helenius for ~0.5–1.0 point with ~1–2 shots on goal and a small goal chance, tallying approximately 1.6 fantasy points. Operating without top-unit power-play time and logging roughly 12 minutes of ice time per night limits his ceiling, while his light peripheral profile offers a modest scoring floor. Looking at the larger schedule, Buffalo is skating in the third contest of a four-game week, leaving only a Saturday road tilt after tonight to accumulate stats. Given his sheltered depth role and limited volume, he is best reserved for the deepest leagues. Today’s action: Bench.
