Olen Zellweger | Fantasy Outlook
Zellweger carries hot form into Montreal rematch amid expanded top-pair role
Olen Zellweger continues to impress early in his Buffalo tenure, earning praise from the coaching staff for living up to expectations through his first seven games. With Rasmus Dahlin currently sidelined by an upper-body injury, the 23-year-old defenseman has seized an elevated top-pairing role alongside second-unit power-play duties. Zellweger has already fired 16 shots on goal and produced three points this season, highlighted by a two-goal outburst against these very Canadiens earlier in the week. Tonight, the Sabres (4–3–1) visit Bell Centre as slight road underdogs in an expected higher-scoring environment, likely facing Jacob Fowler (unconfirmed) in net for Montreal.
Our projection for tonight anticipates Zellweger delivering ~0.5–1.0 point with ~2 shots on goal and a small goal chance, translating to roughly 2.3 fantasy points. While his defensive peripherals remain light across his early sample, his skating and puck-moving acumen provide meaningful upside from the blue line. Tonight represents the fourth and final contest of Buffalo’s four-game week, giving fantasy managers a strong closing spot to leverage his expanded ice time before rosters reset. With his offensive confidence surging and heavy minutes locked in, he makes for a high-upside play. Today’s action: Stream.
