Zucker remains out against Canadiens as recovery from hernia surgery continues
Jason Zucker remains sidelined tonight as the Buffalo Sabres visit the Montreal Canadiens at Bell Centre. Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff noted that Zucker is progressing and was recently on the ice for morning skate, but he has yet to be cleared following off-season sports hernia surgery. Buffalo enters the matchup as slight underdogs in what shapes up to be a higher-scoring environment, with Montreal expected to start Jacob Fowler (unconfirmed) in net. With Zucker officially designated as out and his fantasy start rate sitting near zero, fantasy managers will need to wait a bit longer for his season debut.
Because he is unavailable for tonight's contest, our projection sits at a low point expectation with light shot volume and zero projected fantasy points. Looking at the weekly schedule, Buffalo wraps up their four-game slate tonight, meaning our models anticipate no further scoring opportunities or peripheral production for Zucker through the end of the week. Fantasy managers should keep the veteran winger stashed on injured reserve until the team confirms his activation and middle-six deployment. Today’s action: Bench.
