Noah Ostlund | Fantasy Outlook
Ostlund centers Buffalo's second line with top power-play deployment in Washington
Noah Ostlund leads Buffalo's second line into Capital One Arena tonight as the Sabres visit the Capitals in a projected higher-scoring environment. Buffalo enters as slight underdogs against Washington, who are expected to counter with Charlie Lindgren (unconfirmed) in net. The 22-year-old center has enjoyed a steady role upgrade, centering Zach Benson and Jack Quinn at even strength while securing prime PP1 minutes alongside Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin. Ostlund has produced four points over his last six games while skating near 20 minutes a night, driving an uptick in fantasy interest that has seen his roster rate rise toward eight percent.
Our data projects Ostlund for roughly 2.9 fantasy points tonight, with realistic expectations of ~0.5–1.0 point, ~1–2 shots on goal, and a small goal chance boosted by his top-unit power-play time. While peripheral hits and blocks remain minimal, his playmaking instincts and ice time provide a steady floor. Tonight marks Buffalo's final game of a light two-game weekly slate where our data projects 3.5 total fantasy points. Given his offensive deployment and scoring upside in a favorable offensive matchup, Ostlund makes for an appealing depth option. Today’s action: Stream.
