Brady Singer has endured a brutal late-season slump and faces a daunting matchup in Atlanta

Singer has endured a catastrophic stretch on the mound, compiling a horrific 11.78 ERA and 2.52 WHIP over his last five starts spanning 21.4 innings. With rotation mates Chase Burns and Hunter Greene on the injured list, Singer continues to hold down a starting rotation job for a fifth-place Cincinnati squad that has dropped two straight and sits at 72-84. His command has completely unraveled lately, issuing nine walks across just 7.1 frames in his last two outings.

While our season projection expected a modest 4.29 ERA and 1.30 WHIP, Singer's underlying profile shows that this late-season nosedive is no fluke. He has surrendered 37 hits over his last 30 days while his strikeout rate has plummeted, leaving him with an ugly 5.56 ERA and 15 losses on the year. Without swing-and-miss stuff, his pitch-to-contact profile is getting hammered.

Singer lines up for a single start this Thursday on the road against the division-leading Atlanta Braves, who counter with Tyler Mahle and his 3.88 ERA.
