Singer finds rhythm with improved command during June surge

Singer has finally found his footing lately, posting a solid 3.35 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over his last 16.1 innings. Despite the fifth-place Reds sitting at 39-43 in the NL Central, Singer has stepped up as a mid-rotation staple with his recent form, including 18 strikeouts in his last three outings. He appears fully recovered from earlier ankle and blister issues and remains a fixture in the Cincinnati rotation.

While his 5.23 season ERA remains high, his recent performance is much more in line with our projection of a 4.29 ERA for the year. His season-long 1.57 WHIP is a significant outlier compared to his career norms, but the 1.18 mark over the last 14 days suggests he is correcting his mechanics and limiting the base runners that plagued him in May. This hot streak appears sustainable as a return to his established baseline.

The upcoming week features a single scheduled start on July 3rd at home against the Orioles. Singer will match up against Trevor Rogers, who enters the contest with a 5.14 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP, offering a favorable opportunity for Singer to earn a victory if he maintains his recent command. Given his improved strikeout rate and better control of the strike zone over his last few turns, he should be in your lineup. Verdict: Start.
