Brandon Woodruff Nears Return to First-Place Brewers' Rotation

Woodruff has been sidelined since late April with shoulder inflammation, leaving him with no recent major league stats on his ledger. However, he successfully completed a rehab start in Arizona on June 9, throwing 68 pitches over 3.2 innings. The first-place Brewers, currently sitting at 43-26, are now debating whether the veteran starter needs one more minor-league tune-up or will rejoin the big-league rotation this week.

When active, Woodruff is an undeniable fantasy ace, as evidenced by his superb 3.07 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in six starts before landing on the injured list. Our model remains highly optimistic about his rest-of-season value, projecting him to finish with a 3.51 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 142 strikeouts over 146 innings, proving his elite skill set is no fluke.

The Brewers have upcoming series against Cleveland and Atlanta, but Woodruff's status remains up in the air and he will be highly limited even if he makes a surprise start. Fantasy managers should keep him stashed on the bench for now until his pitch count is fully built back up. Verdict: Sit.
