Trevor Rogers | Fantasy Outlook

Trevor Rogers has rediscovered his frontline form as the anchor of the Orioles rotation

Rogers has been sensational lately, posting a 1.84 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP across his last five starts over the past 30 days. The southpaw currently serves as the number one starter for an Orioles squad that sits at 42-49 and fourth in the AL East. His stability is paramount for Baltimore right now, especially with rotation mainstays Chris Bassitt and Zach Eflin both sidelined on the injured list.

While his actual season ERA remains elevated due to a rocky May, our data suggests this resurgence is legitimate and sustainable. His fastball velocity recently touched 97.3 mph, the hardest he has thrown in years, and he has limited opponents to a .187 average over his last six outings. While we expect his ratios to eventually settle closer to our season projection of a 3.69 ERA, his current form and increased velocity make him a high-end fantasy asset once again.

Rogers is scheduled for one start this week, a very favorable home matchup on July 9 against the Cubs. He will square off against David Peterson, who has struggled significantly with a 6.96 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP this year. Given the massive discrepancy in pitcher quality and Rogers' elite momentum over the last month, he is a must-start option in all formats. Start.
