Brooks Raley | Fantasy Outlook

Brooks Raley remains a reliable high-leverage arm for the Mets, though his fantasy value is largely tied to holds leagues.

The veteran left-hander has been a steady piece of the bullpen for the fifth-place Mets, who currently sit at 29-38 in the NL East. Over his last 11 games, Raley has posted a strong 2.57 ERA with 11 strikeouts in seven innings. Working in tandem with closer Devin Williams, Raley continues to secure high-leverage opportunities as a key setup option.

While his 1.81 ERA on the year is outstanding, his 1.46 WHIP suggests some regression could be on the horizon. Our models project him to finish the season with a 3.75 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over 60 innings of work. He remains elite against left-handed hitters, but his lack of save opportunities limits his utility to holds-based formats.

The Mets finish their series with St. Louis today before hosting the division-leading Braves this weekend. With four games remaining on the weekly slate, Raley is projected by our models for a tidy 1.35 ERA and 2.6 strikeouts over his expected appearances. He is a solid option if you need holds, but in standard formats, you should Sit him.
