Kevin Gausman | Fantasy Outlook

Gausman remains a steady anchor for Toronto's depleted rotation

Kevin Gausman continues to act as the primary staff anchor for a third-place Blue Jays rotation that has been absolutely decimated by long-term injuries to key starters Jose Berrios and Shane Bieber. Over his last 30 days, Gausman has provided much-needed stability for Toronto, cruising to a solid 3.19 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP while racking up 31 strikeouts.

While a few recent runs have slightly inflated his short-term ratios, Gausman's under-the-hood metrics remain fantastic, as evidenced by an elite 13:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his last two outings. Our season projection models expect him to finish with a strong 3.78 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP, confirming his recent speed bumps are a fluke and not a sign of regression.

Looking ahead, Gausman is scheduled for a single start on June 13 at home against the second-place Yankees. He faces a tough opponent in Cam Schlittler, who has a stellar 1.87 ERA, but Gausman's ability to miss bats keeps his ceiling exceptionally high even in difficult matchups. Keep him active as a must-start option this week. Verdict: Start.
