Despite the team's struggles and rotation shuffling due to injuries, Gausman remains locked into his role as a crucial mid-rotation staple.

The recent spike in ratios represents a notable regression from his usual dominance, as his ERA sits at 4.69 over 22 starts this season. While the high WHIP of 1.29 and recent rough outings indicate legitimate current traffic trouble, his underlying strikeout rate remains solid at over nine strikeouts per nine innings.
