Reid Detmers | Fantasy Outlook

Reid Detmers continues second-half surge as rotation anchor for the Angels

Detmers has been sensational on the mound, posting a sparkling 1.50 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 29 strikeouts across 30 innings over his last 30 days. He remains a pillar in the Angels' starting rotation, serving as a bright spot for a fifth-place Los Angeles club that sits at 52-85 and is mired in a seven-game losing skid. Having stayed put through the trade deadline, Detmers is thriving with one of the lowest second-half ERAs in the majors.

While his sub-1.00 WHIP over the past month may experience slight regression, Detmers' dominant 2026 campaign is completely real. Across 151.5 innings this season, the left-hander has registered a 3.68 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 174 strikeouts, taking a massive leap forward thanks to significantly sharper control with just 44 walks allowed. His bat-missing prowess makes him a dependable rotation stabilizer rather than a short-term fluke.

Detmers is lined up for a single start this week on Wednesday when he hosts the New York Yankees. Although New York brings a formidable offense, our projections expect another strong performance featuring a sub-2.00 ERA and solid strikeout volume over five-plus innings.
