Zach Neto | Fantasy Outlook

Zach Neto remains a bright spot for the Angels with a blend of power and speed

Neto has been hitting his stride lately, slashing .300 over his last 14 days with eight runs scored. Despite the Angels sitting in fifth place in the AL West with a 38-59 record, Neto remains the locked-in everyday shortstop and a focal point of the lineup. He is currently healthy and clear of the minor headache and wrist injuries that hampered him earlier in the campaign.

While his .235 season average is a bit of a drag, his 19 home runs and 12 stolen bases through 94 games show significant multi-category growth. Our models originally projected him for 20 homers on the year, a mark he is positioned to shatter as early as this weekend. Given his 23 and 26-homer campaigns over the previous two seasons, this power output is a sustainable part of his profile rather than a fluke.

The Angels face a challenging three-game home set against the Tigers starting Friday. Neto will have to navigate a gauntlet of Detroit starters featuring Tarik Skubal and his 3.09 ERA, along with the dominant Troy Melton, who carries a 1.82 ERA and 0.81 WHIP. While the matchups are difficult, Neto's ability to contribute in both the power and speed departments keeps him relevant in all formats. Start.
