Grayson Rodriguez Lands on Injured List with Back Inflammation, Halting a Rough Stretch

Grayson Rodriguez was placed on the 15-day injured list on June 15 with low back inflammation after exiting his June 14 start. This setback hurts an Angels team currently sitting in fifth place in the AL West with a 30-45 record. Rodriguez had struggled mightily prior to the injury, posting an 8.57 ERA and a 2.38 WHIP over his last seven days.

While his 2026 surface stats are unsightly—including a 9.08 ERA and 2.02 WHIP over six starts—our models project him to settle into a much stronger 3.97 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over the rest of the season.
