Jackson Jobe Progressing in Tommy John Rehab but Remains Weeks Away from Detroit Debut
The highly touted right-hander has no recent games played as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. Jobe made encouraging progress with a bullpen session in early June, but he remains on the 60-day injured list. The fourth-place Tigers, currently holding a 30-44 record, do not expect him to be available for the big-league rotation until August.
Prior to his injury, Jobe posted a 4.35 ERA and a 1.53 WHIP over 47.6 innings during the 2025 season. Our models project him to pitch to a 4.50 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP upon his return to action. While his raw talent and strikeout potential are undeniable, his elevated WHIP and expected workload limitations make him a high-risk option for the stretch run.
With Detroit matching up against Houston and Chicago this week, Jobe continues his rehabilitation program far from the active roster. He is a premier stash in dynasty leagues, but redraft managers should look elsewhere for immediate pitching help. Verdict: Sit.
