Jack Leiter Seeks Command Stability in Tough Road Start at Boston
Jack Leiter remains a back-end starter for the second-place Rangers (33-34), but his recent form has been highly volatile. Over his last 14 days, he has registered a 4.79 ERA and 1.49 WHIP, punctuated by a rough outing on June 6 where he failed to escape the fifth inning. Despite Texas dealing with several pitching injuries, Leiter is healthy and locked into his regular starting role.
Leiter's 4.88 ERA this season is disappointing, but his excellent 10.03 K/9 rate shows growth from his 2025 campaign. Our models project a rest-of-season turnaround, forecasting a 4.33 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 156.0 innings. If he can curb his walk rate (31 walks in 68.2 innings), his strikeout upside will make him a highly valuable asset rather than a volatile stream.
