Braydon Fisher returns to the Blue Jays bullpen following a stint on the bereavement list

Fisher was recently reinstated to the active roster following a period on the bereavement list. On the mound, the 25-year-old has posted a 4.50 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP over his last two innings of work. He remains a versatile relief option for a fifth-place Blue Jays squad that currently sits at 45-51 and is navigating significant injuries to their pitching staff, including the loss of Max Scherzer and Yimi Garcia. Our data shows him currently slotting in as a mid-tier relief arm for the club.

His season ratios of a 3.98 ERA and 1.33 WHIP are a very close match for our season projection, which suggests a 3.88 ERA and 1.29 WHIP moving forward. While his 10.61 K/9 rate across 40.7 innings this year demonstrates high strikeout upside, his tendency to give up walks remains the primary hurdle to consistent high-leverage work. Given his career baseline, his current performance appears sustainable, though he lacks the high save volume required to be a primary fantasy closer.

Toronto concludes the week with a three-game home series against the White Sox. Our projection expects Fisher to provide roughly 3.2 innings of work with nearly four strikeouts over the remaining games. While the White Sox rotation features Anthony Kay and his 4.45 ERA, they also counter with Davis Martin and Sean Burke, who both enter the series with ERAs below 3.50.
