Christian Yelich looking to snap mid-summer slump as lineup anchor

Yelich has struggled at the plate recently, batting just .156 over his last seven days and .188 over the last two weeks. Despite the cold stretch, he remains the primary designated hitter for the first-place Brewers, who lead the division with a 58-34 record. He has navigated various back and groin ailments this season, but his recent game-winning double suggests he is still capable of clutch production while serving as the heart of the Milwaukee offense.

While his current .242 batting average is disappointing compared to his career marks, our data suggests positive regression is coming. He is projected to finish with 15 home runs and double-digit steals, and his underlying discipline remains strong with 27 walks already this year. Given his history of bounce-back performances and elite 2024 production, we expect him to eventually align with our .268 season projection as his health and timing stabilize.

The Brewers conclude their series in St. Louis today against Andre Pallante and his 3.69 ERA before heading to Pittsburgh for the weekend. While Yelich will have to contend with Paul Skenes and his 3.58 ERA on Sunday, he draws a favorable matchup against Bubba Chandler, who enters with a 4.82 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. Despite the recent slump, the everyday volume in a high-powered offense and his fixed role as the starting DH keep him fantasy relevant. Start.
