Quinn Priester | Fantasy Outlook

Quinn Priester out for the year after undergoing season-ending surgery

Priester’s 2026 campaign is officially over after he underwent thoracic outlet decompression surgery in late June. The procedure aims to address a nerve issue that had hampered him since the spring, carrying a recovery timeline of eight to ten months. He remains on the 60-day injured list as the first-place Brewers, who sit at 53-31 and are riding a three-game winning streak, move forward with a rotation that no longer includes him.

The injury halts the momentum Priester built during a strong 2025 season, where he emerged as a reliable starter with a 3.52 ERA and 13 wins over 158.5 innings. While our data initially suggested he would be a mid-rotation staple again this year, the nature of thoracic outlet syndrome makes this a lost season. Fantasy managers can no longer expect any production from the right-hander until 2027 as he focuses on his rehabilitation.

Milwaukee continues their schedule with matchups against the Reds and Diamondbacks this week, but Priester’s fantasy relevance has vanished for the current year.
