Bubba Chandler's elite velocity is overshadowed by command issues and recent ratio inflation

Chandler has faced significant turbulence lately, pitching to a 6.59 ERA and a bloated 2.20 WHIP over his last two starts. The Pirates currently hold a 50-47 record and sit fourth in the NL Central while enjoying a three-game win streak. Despite the recent command lapses, our data confirms he remains a staple in the rotation as the fourth starter, a vital role for a club dealing with several key absences, including center fielder Oneil Cruz and infielder Konnor Griffin.

Under the hood, Chandler's elite strikeout ability is evident in his 85 punchouts across 92 innings, but his 1.48 WHIP and high walk volume are major concerns. Our projection expects him to eventually stabilize toward a 4.28 ERA, but his current form is being hampered by 55 walks on the year.
