Bryan Woo looks to reset after the All-Star break following recent road struggles
Woo has endured a rocky stretch lately, posting a 5.40 ERA and a bloated 2.00 WHIP over his last 14 days. The second-place Mariners, currently 48-49, have opted to push his next start back until after the mid-summer classic, though news suggests he could see a relief appearance before returning to his role as a mid-rotation staple. Despite the recent frustration, he remains firmly entrenched in the rotation according to the current depth chart.
While his current 4.26 ERA is a significant step back from his elite 2.95 mark in 2025, our data suggests a strong rebound is coming. His season projection of a 3.38 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP aligns with his career track record of elite control, evidenced by a 5.10 K/BB ratio this year. The recent influx of hits allowed is likely an outlier given his historical ability to limit base runners and suppress hard contact.
Seattle returns to action with a three-game home series against the Giants starting July 17th. While matchups against Logan Webb and Robbie Ray loom for the Mariners, our models project Woo for zero starts during this scoring period as the team manages his workload post-break. Given the uncertainty of his role this weekend and his lack of a scheduled start, he is a safe fade for the coming days. Sit.
