Jacob Latz | Fantasy Outlook

Jacob Latz remains locked in as Texas' primary closer despite a brief bump in recent ratios.

Latz has hit a brief rough patch over the past 14 days, allowing four earned runs across 4.5 innings, though he still generated seven strikeouts in that span. Despite the minor ratio turbulence, he remains firmly entrenched as Texas' ninth-inning anchor, reinforced by bullpen injuries to Cole Winn and Peyton Gray. With the second-place Rangers riding a two-game winning streak and sitting just one game back in the AL West, meaningful save chances will be plentiful.

This recent hiccup is merely a blip in an exceptional breakout campaign that completely shattered our preseason projection of 10 saves. Over 61.7 innings this year, the southpaw has dominated with a 2.19 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 28 saves. Backed by a whopping 14.57 K/9 rate over the past month, his ability to generate whiffs proves his high-leverage dominance is fully sustainable.

Texas hosts a six-game homestand this week against the Red Sox and Blue Jays, providing ample opportunities in late-inning spots.
