Jacob Latz Dominates in High-Leverage Role as Rangers' Elite Closing Option
Jacob Latz has been nearly unhittable over the last 30 days, posting a microscopic 0.80 ERA, 0.63 WHIP, and an outstanding 18 strikeouts. This dominance has firmly established him as the top option in the Rangers' bullpen, particularly with injuries to Chris Martin and Jalen Beeks. His locking down of late innings has kept the second-place Rangers (35-36) just one game behind the division-leading Mariners.
While Latz's current 1.70 ERA and 0.63 WHIP across 31.7 innings are elite, our season projection of a 4.37 ERA and 1.39 WHIP warns of eventual regression.
