Blaze Alexander emerges as a red-hot multi-positional spark plug for the Orioles

Alexander has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball lately, slashing .324 over the last 14 days and hitting an incredible .421 since the start of July. He has solidified his role as the everyday third baseman for a fifth-place Baltimore squad that currently sits at 42-51. Despite a minor knee bruise late last month, he has remained highly productive in the bottom third of the lineup, recently providing key singles to keep the offense moving during a difficult stretch for the team.

While our season models originally projected a .231 batting average, Alexander has significantly outperformed those expectations with a .303 mark through 79 games. His elite .352 average over the last 30 days suggests he has made a genuine developmental leap rather than just enjoying a short-term fluke. While he lacks elite home run power, his .355 on-base percentage and ability to hit for a high average make him a reliable ratio stabilizer who is quickly becoming a foundational piece in deep fantasy formats.

The Orioles finish their week with four very favorable matchups at home, starting with a contest today against David Peterson and his ballooning 6.96 ERA. The weekend series against the Royals is equally enticing, as Alexander will face Luinder Avila, Noah Cameron, and Seth Lugo, who all carry ERAs of 4.56 or higher. With four straight games against struggling pitchers and Alexander's elite performance with runners in scoring position, he is a priority play in all weekly leagues. Start.
