Connelly Early | Fantasy Outlook

Connelly Early continues rehab from elbow inflammation while on 60-day injured list

Early has not appeared in an MLB game since late June and remains shut down from active competition, having been shifted to the 60-day injured list due to recurring left elbow inflammation and forearm tightness. The fourth-place Nationals (67-75) watched the young left-hander toss a 25-pitch bullpen session late last month, but he has yet to embark on a formal rehab assignment to rejoin Washington's rotation.

Prior to hitting the shelf, the southpaw delivered strong work over 17 starts, compiling a 3.54 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 93 strikeouts across 89.1 innings. While our projections reflect his mid-rotation upside with a forecasted 3.72 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, his prolonged absence and late-season shutdown make any meaningful fantasy contributions this year doubtful.

As Washington heads to Los Angeles for a weekend series against the Dodgers, Early is projected for zero innings and will not factor into the pitching plans. With the minor league season winding down and Washington cautious with his long-term health, he offers no immediate utility in redraft formats. Sit.
