Helsley has been sidelined since early July due to right elbow discomfort and inflammation, landing him on the 60-day injured list while he undergoes treatment and seeks second opinions. The Orioles currently sit in fourth place in the AL East with a 51-55 record, leaning heavily on Tyler Wells for ninth-inning save opportunities in Helsley's absence.

Before the injury interruption, Helsley managed a 4.38 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 17 appearances with eight saves, falling short of his typical elite ratios seen in past seasons.
