Dustin May looks to reset after a rocky third start with Milwaukee

After delivering two consecutive quality starts to begin his Brewers tenure, May stumbled on Wednesday against Seattle, allowing seven earned runs across two difficult frames. The right-hander has otherwise transitioned smoothly since arriving via trade, slotting in as a regular rotation starter for the first-place Brewers (78-49). With Milwaukee navigating multiple pitching injuries, his spot in the starting rotation remains completely undisputed.

While Wednesday's blowup inflated his recent ratios, May posted a solid 3.81 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across his last 30 days. Our projections forecast a 4.21 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 135 strikeouts over 139 innings this season, indicating his recent stumble was an outlier rather than a collapse. Expect him to revert to a trustworthy mid-rotation stabilizer moving forward.

Because May already pitched on Wednesday, he has no remaining scheduled starts for the rest of this week against Seattle or Atlanta. Fantasy managers should leave him benched for the remainder of this matchup cycle and prepare to activate him when his rotation turn comes back around next week. Sit.
