Jordan Hicks | Fantasy Outlook

Jordan Hicks flashes elite strikeout stuff in middle relief but remains too volatile for fantasy lineups

Over his last 14 days, Hicks has posted a 0.00 ERA across five appearances, though an alarming 3.13 WHIP highlights ongoing command trouble. Pitching in middle relief behind closer Sean Newcomb, he continues to handle lower-leverage frames as the second-place White Sox (80-76) ride a two-game winning streak in their postseason push.

While his 61 strikeouts over 37.6 innings this season demonstrate his electric raw velocity, his 5.03 ERA and 1.94 WHIP illustrate how damaging the walks remain. With just one save and ten holds all year, our models indicate his limited high-leverage usage does not justify the massive ratio risk he carries.

Chicago faces a six-game slate this week with three road matchups against Kansas City before hosting Colorado for three weekend tilts. Without clear opportunities for saves or dependable ratio preservation, Hicks should remain on waiver wires in standard leagues. Sit.
