Brad Keller returns from the injured list to anchor the Phillies' middle relief

Keller is back in action after a stint on the injured list for forearm tendinitis, having officially rejoined the active roster following a successful rehab assignment. The second-place Phillies currently boast a 54-43 record and are riding a two-game win streak as they look to keep pace in the NL East. With teammates Lou Trivino and Tanner Banks sidelined with injuries, Keller has slotted in as the primary long-relief option in a bullpen that needs his veteran stability.

His current 4.24 ERA and 1.41 WHIP represent a notable regression from his stellar 2025 season where he posted a dominant 2.18 ERA. However, our data suggests he will settle into a respectable 4.03 ERA for the rest of the season as he regains his rhythm. While he filled in as the primary closer earlier this year with three saves, the presence of a healthy Jhoan Duran moves Keller back into a holds-oriented role where his strikeout rate remains a useful asset.

The Phillies host the Mets for three remaining games this week, providing Keller with several opportunities to bridge the gap to the late-inning specialists.
