Bucky Irving enters the 2026 season firmly entrenched atop Tampa Bay's backfield. After recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, team reports confirmed Irving is fully cleared with no limitations. While Kenny Gainwell will factor into complementary packages, Irving continues to command the primary rushing share and early-down work.
Our projections forecast a substantial workload for the third-year back, anticipating 255 carries for 1,000 rushing yards and six touchdowns alongside 38 receptions for 300 yards. Fantasy managers treat him as an everyday fixture, reflected in an 88% start rate and universal roster ownership.
Draft trends show his ADP has gradually drifted from pick 43 in July down to pick 50 in mid-August PPR drafts. With our projections expecting 227.0 total fantasy points, this slight market dip makes Irving a premier draft-day value as a rock-solid RB2.
