Rising Draft Hype Clashes with Deep Committee Role in Los Angeles
Kimani Vidal enters his third season in a crowded Chargers backfield. On the depth chart, he sits behind starter Omarion Hampton and primary backup Keaton Mitchell. Despite this deep placement, Vidal has proven capable of handling larger workloads, having logged 155 carries in 12 games last year.
Vidal's ADP has steadily climbed from 200 in late May to 185 in mid-July. This rising price in PPR formats shows that managers are speculating on his talent. However, our projections of 56.3 fantasy points suggest this hype exceeds his current opportunity, making him a risky late-round choice.
Adding to the uncertainty, summer reports suggest Vidal could be a potential trade candidate. Currently rostered in 52% of leagues but starting in only 2%, he remains a bench stash. He will need a teammate injury or a trade to find consistent fantasy viability.
