Demercado enters his first campaign with Kansas City operating as the primary backup behind Kenneth Walker. Across three seasons in Arizona, he proved to be an efficient complementary piece, averaging over seven yards per carry in 2025 while contributing as a reliable third-down option out of the backfield.
Our projections forecast a modest rotational role for Demercado, slating him for 77 carries, 420 rushing yards, and two rushing scores, alongside 16 receptions for 115 yards and 82.0 total fantasy points. Without a direct path to high-volume touches, his standalone weekly value remains minimal.
Fantasy managers have reacted accordingly, letting his ADP slide past pick 550 over the summer while his roster rate dropped to 6%. He is not draftable in standard leagues, but Demercado serves as an inexpensive insurance stash in deep formats should the backfield hierarchy open up.
