Explosive Change-of-Pace Threat in a Crowded Chargers Backfield

Keaton Mitchell enters his first season with the Chargers operating as an explosive change-of-pace option. The coaching staff has signaled plans for an active three-way committee alongside Omarion Hampton and Kimani Vidal, but they have specifically lauded Mitchell's dynamic receiving skills and mismatch potential out of the backfield.

Our season projections forecast Mitchell for 85 rushing attempts, 375 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, and 12 receptions for 71.0 total fantasy points. Mitchell has demonstrated elite per-touch efficiency throughout his career, though competing for volume in a split backfield keeps his weekly touch ceiling relatively modest.

Fantasy managers are taking notice of his training camp role, as Mitchell's ADP has steadily climbed from pick 152 in mid-July to around 145. Currently rostered in 22% of leagues, he represents an appealing late-round PPR bench stash who could yield solid value if the backfield rotation shifts in his favor.
