Explosive Change-of-Pace Back Emerges as High-Upside Flyer in Los Angeles

Keaton Mitchell enters his first season with the Chargers, occupying the backup role on the backfield depth chart behind starter Omarion Hampton. Having spent his early career with the Ravens, where he flashed game-breaking efficiency when healthy, Mitchell looks to carve out a dangerous change-of-pace role in Los Angeles.

Our projections slot Mitchell for a limited but impactful workload of 78 carries for 402 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with 14 receptions. He is highly capable of turning sparse touches into chunk plays, making him an intriguing late-round option despite his low 11% ownership rate.

His ADP has steadily climbed from around 170 in late May to 152 by early July, showing that fantasy managers are increasingly willing to gamble on his explosive upside in a 1.0 PPR format. At this price, Mitchell represents a low-risk, high-upside flyer who could easily outperform his cost if he pushes Hampton for snaps.
