Grant Holmes | Fantasy Outlook

Grant Holmes brings sharp run prevention into a favorable late-season road tilt in Miami.

Holmes has been on a strong run down the stretch, posting a stingy 2.25 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 16 innings over his last 14 days. With rotation mates Spencer Strider and Reynaldo López sidelined by injuries, Holmes has stepped up as the number two starter for the first-place Braves, who have clinched the NL East on a three-game winning streak.

While his recent 2.63 ERA over the past 30 days outpaces his 3.55 season mark, it has coincided with a dip in strikeouts, fanning just 14 batters across 24 innings. Still, our models show his strike-throwing and knack for limiting barrels will keep his ratios dependable rather than suffering harsh regression.

Holmes takes the mound for a single start Friday on the road against the Marlins, facing Eury Pérez (4.17 ERA, 1.28 WHIP). Pitching in a favorable venue against a sub-.500 Miami offense provides plenty of ratio insulation and run support upside. Lock him into your pitching staff for championship week. Start.
