Brett Baty flashes occasional pop but remains mired in an extended slump

Baty continues to search for consistency at the plate, hitting just .154 over his last 14 days despite launching a memorable grand slam against Atlanta. With Juan Soto and Mark Vientos on the injured list, the fifth-place Mets, currently sitting at 56-69 on a three-game win streak, have deployed Baty across multiple utility spots.

Through 112 games, Baty is batting .210 with eight home runs and 109 strikeouts, falling short of our projected .242 batting average. His high strikeout rate and .151 clip over the past month show that this slump is real rather than bad luck, severely capping his fantasy utility.

New York has six games on slate this week against San Diego and the White Sox. While matchups against Walker Buehler (4.98 ERA) and Luis Castillo (5.07 ERA) look exploitable, stingy arms like Robbie Ray (3.51 ERA) and Sean Burke (3.20 ERA) cloud his weekly outlook. Sit.
