Brandyn Garcia emerges as an elite high-leverage weapon in the Arizona bullpen

Garcia has been nearly untouchable recently, posting a perfect 0.00 ERA and a 0.51 WHIP over his last 11 appearances. During this 30-day stretch, he has racked up 11 holds and a save while moving into the third spot in the relief hierarchy for a Diamondbacks team that currently sits at 51-48. With the rotation missing Zac Gallen and Ryne Nelson, Garcia’s reliability in the late innings is vital for maintaining Arizona's slim 0.5-game lead in the Wild Card race.

His 2026 breakout featuring a 2.17 ERA is a massive leap forward from his 6.75 ERA and 2.17 WHIP during his 2025 campaign. Under the hood, his 12.17 K/9 rate suggests the swing-and-miss stuff is legitimate, though our season projection of a 4.09 ERA and 1.43 WHIP warns of eventual regression. However, having issued only six walks through 20.7 innings this year, he has shown significantly better efficiency and is no longer the ratio risk he once was.
