Luke Hughes | Fantasy Outlook
Luke Hughes anchors top pairing and PP1 in home matchup against Vancouver
Luke Hughes leads the New Jersey blue line tonight as the Devils host the Vancouver Canucks at Prudential Center. Handling top-pairing duties and quarterbacking the top power-play unit alongside Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, the 23-year-old enters in steady form with a goal and 11 shots through three games while averaging over 24 minutes. With fantasy start rates rebounding to 62% for this matchup, New Jersey enters as a clear home favorite in an active scoring environment against Leevi Meriläinen (unconfirmed). Recent team analysis confirms Hughes continues to show immense promise driving play from the backend.
Our daily projection slots Hughes for ~0.5–1.0 point with ~2–3 shots on goal, providing a steady baseline of 2.7 fantasy points with power-play upside. Given New Jersey’s light two-game weekly schedule, tonight represents his final outing of the scoring period, making his elite ice time all the more crucial for managers needing blue-line production. Facing a backup netminder in a favorable home environment, his offensive ceiling and heavy deployment make him a premier lineup lock across standard leagues. Today's action: Strong Start.
