Justin Martinez | Fantasy Outlook

Justin Martinez has been unhittable since returning from the injured list, bolstering Arizona's bullpen.

Martinez has been spotless since returning to action, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings with eight strikeouts across seven appearances over the past month. With Arizona sitting at 78-69 and just a half-game back in the Wild Card race, his triple-digit heater has thrust him into a vital high-leverage setup role, especially with relievers Ryan Thompson and A.J. Puk lost for the season.

While his 0.00 ERA will eventually experience regression toward our projected 3.67 ERA, his strikeout upside is completely genuine. Martinez fanned 91 batters in 65.9 innings back in 2024, and although five walks across his first 6.2 innings show control remains a work in progress, his pure swing-and-miss arsenal makes him a legitimate asset.

Having already picked up a win in Kansas City earlier this week, Martinez heads into a three-game home set against Texas. Our projections slate him for roughly three innings and over four strikeouts for the scoring period. While he yields saves to Brandyn Garcia, his ratios and punchouts make him well worth deploying in holds formats and deep leagues. Start.
