Trade Details and Some Stats

The headliner of the deal was Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo. He's been in trade rumors for years, and finally has a new team in the Heat. Milwaukee also sent Bobby Portis to Miami in this deal.

Milwaukee got a nice haul in return. Miami sent over four players, Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kasparas Jakucionis. The Bucks also will receive three first-round picks (including No. 13 this year), a pick swap and a second-round pick.

Antetokounmpo has been one of the top NBA players for several years now, but has dealt with injuries. He only got in 36 games a season ago, but averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks over 28.9 minutes a game. Giannis shot 62.4% from the floor, 33.3% from 3-point land and 65% from the free-throw line.

Portis has been a good option off the bench, especially during his time in Milwaukee. He played in 67 games last year, averaging 24.2 minutes a night. Portis also averaged 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.2 blocks, while shooting 48.8% overall, 45.6% from deep and 70.6% from the line.

Herro has dealt with injuries over his career as well, and only got in 33 games in the 2025-26 season. He averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.4 blocks over 31.3 minutes a contest. Herro shot 48% overall, 37.8% from 3-point land and 91.7% from the line.

Ware had a solid second year in the league, averaging 11.1 points, 9 rebounds, 1.1 blocks. 0.8 steals and 0.7 assists over 22.1 minutes a contest. He shot 53% overall, 39.5% from deep and was 74% from the free-throw line.

Jaquez has mostly come off the bench over his three-year career. He got into 75 games a season ago, averaging 15.4 points, 5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks over 28.3 minutes. Jaquez shot 50.7% overall, 31.7% from deep and 76.9% from the line.

Jakucionas showed some promise here and there during his rookie season. He averaged 6.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and assists, 0.6 steals and 0.1 blocks over 17.8 minutes a game across his 53 games played. Jakucionas shot 42.9% overall, 42.3% from deep and 87.9% from the line.

Heat Outlook with Antetokounmpo

Both teams will certainly add more and have their rosters changed between now and the start of the regular season, starting with the NBA draft tonight, but let's look into both teams right now.

Miami has a nice collection of talent with Giannis in the mix now, but after letting four players go, the depth is suspect.

Antetokounmpo is joined by Bam Adebayo, so that's a good 1-2 punch in the frontcourt.

Andrew Wiggins is the projected starting small forward right now, with Davion Mitchell and Norman Powell at the 1 and 2 spots, respectively. Portis, Pelle Larsson, Dru Smith, Simone Fontecchio and Nikola Jovic are some other notable bench options.

That starting lineup is solid, but I wouldn't say it's anything too special. The Heat will need more if they wish to compete for the NBA title this coming season.

Antetokounmpo is going to be the leader for Miami, both in the real world and in fantasy basketball. Adebayo will be a really good second option. After that, Wiggins, Mitchell, Powell, Portis and Larsson should be the most notable players, in the real world and in fantasy.

Again though, I fully expect Miami to make some more moves between now and the start of the regular season. There's talent in Miami, but they still need more if they want to come out of the Eastern Conference.

Trading away four players and draft picks means they really need to crush the rest of the offseason too, while also staying healthy next season.

Bucks' Outlook Minus Giannis

Losing Giannis is a big blow to the Bucks, but the return was good enough to keep Milwaukee in the playoff hunt. If the Bucks can connect on a couple draft picks, they could re-emerge as an East contender in the years to come.

The Bucks' roster is likely to keep getting adjusted this offseason, but right now, the projected starters are Herro, Jaquez, Ryan Rollins, Kyle Kuzma and Myles Turner. Jakucionas, Kevin Porter Jr., Ousmane Dieng, AJ Green, Jericho Sims and Ware are among the bench options.

With a couple draft picks coming, and an influx of players from this trade, Milwaukee will need to cut back its roster, so expect more movement in the days/weeks/months to come.

There's no real alpha player on the roster right now, but if healthy, Herro could power the Bucks. Rollins is the best returning fantasy player, and Jaquez and Ware should be other good options.

So again, while losing Antetokounmpo won't be easy to overcome, the Bucks' are a more complete roster than they were yesterday. With a new head coach and system in place, the Bucks could be sneaky good in the years to come - and I don't think that's me being biased as a Bucks' fan.

Anyways, we will cover both teams, and all NBA rosters, more in the future, starting with an NBA draft breakdown this week, so keep checking back to FantasySP for more!
