Jeremiyah Love Out with Ankle Injury
Arizona running back Jeremiyah Love has a high ankle sprain that will likely keep him out for the remainder of the preseason. The Cardinals are hopeful the rookie back will be ready for the regular season.
Love was the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, so he's expected to be one of the top rookie this coming year. Him already dealing with an injury isn't a great start to his career, and it's something that could impact him on and off all season, which makes this a notable thing to discuss.
Love is going very early in fantasy drafts, sitting at pick 25.86 on average. I thought that was too early, so maybe the injury will lower that mark and make him a better value pick before the season.
While Love's ADP and draft stock dips a bit, Tyler Allgeier could be on the rise. Arizona also has James Conner and Trey Benson who could benefit from the Love injury, especially early in the season.
Allgeier is going around pick 136 on average, which I thought was too late. That should go up now, and he becomes an even better draft pick with Love now dealing with an injury.
If the injury ends up worse than anticipated, Love's absence could mean more for Conner and/or Benson early on too. One of those two was likely to be cut or traded, but now the Love injury could change that.
This is something we'll keep tracking over time, and we'll provide you with any notable updates when appropriate.
Bears' RB Banged Up
Kyle Monangai, the Bears' No. 2 running back, is dealing with a knee injury. He suffered it on Sunday. It's not expected to be a long-term injury, but an MRI is going to be done to confirm that.
He showed some solid things as a rookie in 2025, and is expected to do even more in 2026, so the injury scare was a concerning one for Chicago. Hopefully he's not going to miss much time, and will be ready to go for the regular season.
D'Andre Swift is the top back in Chicago, and is going at pick 53.29 on average. Monangai is going near pick 91 on average. I like that ADP for Monangai, and think he's a draft value/steal pick near there.
I expect the backfield to be split pretty evenly in 2026, so getting Monangai several rounds after Swift is the route I want to go. We'll see if the injury changes things for either back, and report back when we know more.
Kraft Back in Team Drills
Packers tight end Tucker Kraft is back doing team drills for the first time since tearing his ACL in the middle of last regular season.
He's going to play in week 1 barring a new injury or setback, but he said the team might watch his snaps/reps early in the season if he cannot ramp things up enough by then.
That could alter his fantasy outlook a bit, especially early on. His ADP is 69.71 for now. I like him near that pick, even if his snaps are monitored early on. If that ADP falls after this news, then I like drafting Kraft even more.
Green Bay has no definite No. 1 passing target, and Kraft could be the top guy if he's healthy all of 2026. He was on his way to a stellar 2025 season before the ACL injury, so we'll see if he can pick things up where he left off.
Vikings' Adams Done for Season
Linebacker Jamal Adams' season is over before it even begins. He has a season-ending knee injury.
He was expected to be a big part of the Vikings' defense in 2026, so now the team will turn to other guys. Blake Cashman and Eric Wilson are expected to be the starting middle linebackers, with Dallas Turner and Andrew Van Ginkel on the outside.
Rookie Jake Golday and Ivan Pace Jr. are the top backups at middle linebacker, with Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins and Bo Richter as outside linebacker depth.
The Minnesota defense is still very good overall, and with Brian Flores at defensive coordinator, the unit should be strong. The injury to Adams hurts though, and more injuries down the road could really decimate the unit, so keep that in mind when thinking about the Vikings DST for 2026.
Seahawks Lock Up Witherspoon
Cornerback Devon Witherspoon will be in Seattle for a while after signing a four-year, $132 million extension.
The 25-year-old has two interceptions and 32 passes defensed over his first three NFL seasons, which has spanned 43 games. He has 249 combined tackles, 16 TFLs, nine QB hits, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
He's a great IDP option for a cornerback, and he should remain one for the next several seasons on a good Seattle defense. I really like him in dynasty leagues, and he is a good redraft IDP option too.
The biggest thing with him going forward will be health. He's played 17 games once, then been at 14 and 12 games. If he stays healthy, he could be a top-tier corner, and IDP CB, for years to come.
Pearce Suspended 8 Games
Atlanta defensive end James Pearce Jr. was suspended eight games by the NFL for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.
The 2025 first-round pick is just 22 years old and showed good things as a rookie across 17 games. He had 26 tackles, but 10.5 sacks. Pearce also had five passes defensed, a fumble recovered and forced, 10 TFLs and 16 QB hits.
His suspension leaves a hole in the Falcons' defense, so the Falcons DST might not be quite as good, especially those first eight games.
Cameron Thomas and Azeez Ojulari are some other pass rushers who could replace Pearce while he's out. Samson Ebukam is the projected starter opposite Pearce, when active.
The Falcons' defense still has some playmakers on it, but it is worse without Pearce. Keep that in mind for the first eight weeks, as the unit plays without Pearce.
Tyson has Hamstring Injury
New Orleans rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson has a hamstring injury. There's no timetable for his return to practice, so that clouds his outlook for 2026.
The No. 8 overall pick this offseason was a bit injury prone in college, so this is a concerning injury for sure. His ADP sits at 80 overall, and that's likely to fall after his injury news.
He was expected to be WR2 behind Chris Olave. With not many other proven pass catchers on the team, the injury to Tyson is definitely concerning for the Saints.
If Tyson misses regular season time, expect Devaughn Vele, rookies Bryce Lance and Barion Brown, plus Mason Tipton, to get more playing time. Olave will definitely lead the way, and tight end Juwan Johnson will be heavily involved too.
The Saints could also put more on the plate of the running backs (Travis Etienne and Alvin Kamara). The injury to Tyson is a slight hit to the fantasy outlook for quarterback Tyler Shough though.
We'll track the injury and let you know of any notable updates if/when we get them. For now, be more skeptical of taking Tyson in fantasy drafts, and drop him back a round or more.
