Deep Slot Option Offers Late-Round Flyer Value in New Orleans

Devaughn Vele enters his third season looking to cement his role as the primary slot receiver for New Orleans. Operating alongside Chris Olave and Jordyn Tyson, our models project Vele for a stable but modest role. We forecast him to finish with 34 receptions for 421 yards and three touchdowns on 61 targets across the season.

Looking at his market value, Vele's ADP has remained stubbornly stable in the late-280s, currently sitting at 289. Aside from a brief spike in early June, fantasy managers are largely ignoring him in standard drafts, leaving his ownership rate under 10 percent. At this rock-bottom price, we view him as an inexpensive bench stash in deeper PPR leagues.

While his ceiling is capped in an offense featuring Travis Etienne Jr. and Alvin Kamara, his path to slot targets is clear. If Vele can build on the flashes he showed in his prior seasons, he could emerge as a dependable safety valve. For now, he is a low-risk, minimal-cost depth option.
