Post-Surgery Health and Elite Aspirations Position AJ Barner as a Late-Round Tight End Steal
Coming off offseason surgeries following a Super Bowl run, AJ Barner enters the season as Seattle's primary tight end. After securing 54 catches for 537 yards and six touchdowns last year, Barner has openly stated his goal to join the league's elite at the position. He leads the depth chart ahead of Eric Saubert, securing a clear path to consistent targets.
Our projections are highly optimistic, slotting him for 47 receptions, 473 yards, and four scores on 82 targets. In draft trends, his ADP spiked to 105 in early June but has since settled back to 170. In 1.0 PPR formats, this deflated price makes him an absolute steal.
Currently, his ownership sits at 48% with a 32% start rate. Fantasy managers should view him as a high-upside backup who could easily outperform his late-round draft capital once he is fully cleared for training camp.
