Primary Slot Role and Contract-Year Motivation Make Downs a Great Late-Round PPR Target
Josh Downs enters his fourth season as the primary slot receiver for the Colts. Listed at the top of the slot depth chart ahead of Anthony Gould, Downs expects expanded opportunities in a contract year. He will compete for targets alongside Alec Pierce, providing a reliable safety valve in the passing game.
After a down 2025 campaign where he caught 60 passes for 576 yards, our projections expect a strong bounce-back. We project Downs to turn 110 targets into 73 receptions, 759 yards, and 4 touchdowns. This volume would mirror his highly efficient 2024 season.
Draft market trends show his ADP has stabilized around 113. While his cost briefly spiked in early June, his current price tag represents a massive value. Highly motivated in a contract year, Downs is a low-risk depth piece who could easily exceed his draft-day cost.
