Camp Hype Fades into Depth Chart Realities in Kansas City

Brashard Smith generated buzz early in training camp by earning first-team reps, but he remains buried in a crowded Kansas City backfield. With Kenneth Walker leading the room alongside Emari Demercado, Smith faces an uphill battle for regular weekly touches in standard formats.

Entering his second year, Smith proved capable as a complementary receiver in 2025, catching 28 passes for 203 yards. However, our season projection anticipates a limited workload of 29 carries for 115 rushing yards and 12 receptions, totaling 38.0 fantasy points.

The market's initial optimism has cooled rapidly. After climbing near pick 270 in early August, his ADP tumbled past 400 in 1.0 PPR leagues while roster rates plummeted to 2%. At this suppressed cost, our models view him purely as a deep dynasty stash rather than a redraft priority.
