Deep-Ball Threat Provides Low-Cost Upside in Kansas City
Thornton flashed big-play ability in his first year in Kansas City, averaging an explosive 23.1 yards per reception on 19 catches for 438 yards and three scores. After quickly brushing off a mid-August hamstring scare, he remains an outside field-stretcher in Patrick Mahomes' high-powered offense.
Our projections expect a similar complementary workload, forecasting 25 receptions for 450 yards and three touchdowns on 48 targets (93.0 fantasy points). Competing with Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce for volume naturally caps his weekly target floor.
Draft sentiment has cooled dramatically. After tracking near pick 330 in early August, his ADP tumbled past pick 630 as drafts finalized. While the market has largely abandoned him, our data suggests he is a viable dart-throw stash for managers chasing cheap deep-ball upside.
